Sherlock Holmes and the Bitter of the Baskervilles

Following a string of award-winning and critically acclaimed productions the team behind The Old Joint Stock Theatre is heading back outdoors for Summer 2026 with a brand-new open-air theatrical adventure: Sherlock Holmes and the Bitter of the Baskervilles: An Untapped Tale. The show is written by Adam Meggido, co-creator/director of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, the first improvised show ever to win an Olivier Award .

After the success of last summer’s charming open-air tour of Wind in the Willows, the Old Joint Stock’s in-house theatre company returns with a fresh mystery packed with intrigue, comedy, live music, and razor-sharp wit, all performed in pub gardens and outdoor venues across the UK.

Sherlock Holmes and the Bitter of the Baskervilles: An Untapped Tale invites audiences to step into a world of mystery and deduction as the legendary detective tackles a thrilling new case filled with twists, turns, suspicious characters, and clever revelations. Set against the backdrop of atmospheric summer evenings, audiences can enjoy an unforgettable night of outdoor theatre with a drink in hand.

The production continues The Old Joint Stock’s commitment to creating ambitious, accessible theatre experiences that bring bold storytelling directly to audiences in unique and intimate settings.

Emily Susanne Lloyd, Director, comments:

“After the incredible response to Wind in the Willows last summer, we knew we wanted to create another outdoor experience that felt theatrical, playful, and completely immersive. Sherlock Holmes is the perfect next step for us, it’s packed with humour, suspense, and larger-than-life characters, whilst still allowing us to create something intimate and exciting in pub gardens across the country. We can’t wait to bring this hilarious and mysterious adventure to audiences this summer.”
